Sarah von Reis knows how to catch you off balance not through volume, but via vulnerability. Her new single Patrol doesn't demand that you listen, but instead, it drifts in like mist at dawn, soft and heart-exposing; free of frills and affectations, it wields your attention through nothing but emotional weight. It's the type of song that wraps your late-night brain around it and won't let go. Von Reis puts everything in the climax; he lets loose, but it's not just a song, but it's a catharsis. And when it's done, you're left with that haunted, beautiful silence that only a truly great track can leave behind.
In 2019, she even won three MFs as a member of Dolly Style in the Swedish version of the JESC. Swedish singer/songwriter Molly has been gradually making her name since 2023, the year she appeared in MF for the first time, and "Patrol," with its edgy, sexy vibe, might be her most powerful release yet. It begins with a hushed, spare production, twinkling chords, Sarah's voice naked under the spotlight.
The words tap into a moment so many have known all too well: the sleepless nights when a relationship's on the brink, when silence can be louder than words, and a heart is on high alert. The song resides right there on Emotional Patrol, looking through the dark for hope or surrender. Then the chorus comes crashing in with a swoosh of cinematic loveliness that catches you up in a whirl of strings and rising emotion. It seems elemental, a sound that could as easily be a soundtrack to a coming-of-age movie as a sound in the passageways of the back of a dark bar.
"Patrol" is the first taste of her debut, released on March 28, 2025. If that's the bar she's setting, then look out, we're in for something special. Honest, vulnerable, and gorgeously unafraid, Sarah von Reis is reminding us that some of the softest songs hit the hardest. The single is available now. Hear it wherever you get your music.
