Miles and the Chain Gang journey along the "Road to Damascus"

Miles and the Chain Gang are back with "Road To Damascus," a funky, foot-tapping gem that beautifully bridges the gap between old-school charm and modern soul. Initially written in 1995 and released on a small cassette batch titled *Time To Credit Marvels*, the song is now revitalized through a vibrant reimagining at Young Thugs Studio in York.

"Road To Damascus" features a lively instrumental groove that is funky without being flashy and soulful without being overbearing, offering an authentic sound that feels genuinely lived-in and loved. Salter's vocals carry the melody with poetic ease, navigating the beat with a storyteller's flair that has become a hallmark of the band's style.

With Billy Hickling's precise percussion, Karl Mullen's tasteful piano licks, and Fay Donaldson's saxophone adding warmth, the track develops a rich, textured sound. Holly Taymar-Bilton's backing harmonies and Paul Winn's harmonica flair contribute to a full-bodied groove that playfully nods to the '90s while firmly establishing itself in the present.

The accompanying animated video captures this nostalgic spirit, echoing the track's origins with a whimsical visual that complements the music's uplifting energy. More than just a song revival, "Road To Damascus" feels like a celebration and a tribute to Miles's past, as well as a confident step into the future. With local legends on board and Salter's passion steering the project, this release serves as a love letter to both the past and present of indie soul-rock.
