TEZ strikes a chord of hope with indie gem "When Our Worlds Collide"

Straight out of the sun-soaked streets of Margate, we have a warm, heartfelt burst of jangly indie rock: TEZ, the trio comprising Owen Mellett, Joe Martin, and Dan Hughes. Their newest single, 'When Our Worlds Collide,' is an irresistible collision of sunny guitars, soulful singing, and emotionally direct songwriting that couldn't be more perfect for long summer drives or late-night introspection.

The song opens with a wash of dreamy sounds and a twangy, crisp guitar line you might expect to find cohabitating on a playlist with the Maccabees or Foals. On the surface, it's an easy listen: melodic, catchy, and sonically warm, the type of thing you can put on repeat without thinking too much about it. However, it's the depth of its songwriting that allows such a ditty to stick.

'When Our Worlds Collide' was born from a living room jam, and within 10 minutes the lyrics were there- viscerally crying from the soul, obviously had to be smashed out". That feeling of spontaneous creation is present in every note, and the album channels the ache of a love that spans life paths that don't quite align, yet still teems with the hope that they will one day.

TEZ manages the nearly impossible feat of making a song that is both introspective and anthemic. The chorus soars with an emotional catharsis, addressing the dreamers and long-distance lovers among us. Little wonder that BBC Introducing's Abbie McCarthy is already on board. T" may be a "newcomer to the '00sosphere, but with cuts like this, it's obvious they're headed somewhere much larger.
