Kingly T & Claudette King Assemble unveils "Live to Love"

When the music fades and has reached our hearts, enters Kingly T with his second single release "Live To Love", which features Claudette King. While this is Claudette King's first reggae project, it was a match made in music-making heaven as the youngest descendant of B.B. King and blue-blooded soul singer-songwriters effortlessly pays homage to her legendary family's knack for musical storytelling by marrying soul with reggae. She is legendary within blues circles for her "Buzz Queen" status, and hearing her vibe on this track imparts a genuineness and warmth that makes her crossover to reggae seem seamless, as if she could have only come from there.

One of the last songs written was "Live to Love," which has a supremely dream-like quality, almost diffusing through the speakers with a sunlit reggae lick. At the same time, Kingly T introduces himself with a voice like James Earl Jones as the music takes his hand and guides him around every bright corner in your mind. The song conveys a universal message that celebrates unity and the importance of being together in love. Few things bring people together as music does, coming from every corner of the world, united by a shared experience or emotion.

A warm, woozy lullaby of sorts, "Live to Love" is the type of track that can charismatically sprawl out into the pleasant recesses of your life: a piece that sounds as comfortable crumbled up in your earbuds on a languid night in, as it does emanating from any murky haze-bound club system. Long before the song "Live to Love," King T and Claudette King connected in a generations-spanning, genre-jumping musical handshake. Barely scratched the surface, this is a curatorial no-no from any seasoned industry pro and must be listened to by the typical listener as an emotionally raw yet honest reggae tale in soul space territory, except better than life with vibes to be discovered long after the record ends.
