The Muster Point Project transforms heartbreak into a powerful anthem with "You Lose and You Gain"

The Muster Point Project by Kevin Franco, has a unique ability to make music sound both personal and universal at the same time. With their recent "You Lose and You Gain" release, Franco demonstrates once again why his songs remain etched in your memory. The most remarkable thing about this release is its symmetry. "You Lose and You Gain" roars with a swaggering, classic rocking guitar riff, laced with country-tinged textures that add grit and heart. Slide guitar licks curl around a steady bass line, with the mandolin and percussion adding layers of warmth to the song. "One Night in Miami" is that kind of performance: It seems easy, but it has an aftertaste.

On the track, Franco broods on bass, guitars, mandolin, and some percussion, providing his own vocals to confirm his dexterity as a musician. With drummer Marcelo Effori at his side, the song feels like it's held together and also refreshingly raw. As Franco writes, everything, from the slide guitar to the melodic flow to the lyrical message, hits you right away, and that's very true.
