Los Angeles crooner, producer, and songwriter Andrew Balfour – otherwise known as Black Sands has recently released his new single "Rock Me", a tune brimming with the lifeblood of wild youth and honest emotion. The noise-pop collective/cult favorite returns with more electricity when you're sleeping moments without a roadmap.
"Rock Me" drags listeners into an odd kind of vortex. Co-written by Andrew Balfour, Brandon Chase, Davide Russo, and Ryan Lawrie, and co-produced by Balfour with Russo, the song has an urgency that seems almost primal, like lightning in real time. "Rock Me" isn't a song so much as it is a rush, a reminder, and, by extension, an affront to time. It's the sound of youth refusing to go gentle.
"Rock Me" is one of those songs that just felt like it came out of nowhere. That spontaneity seeps into each second of the track, blurring the line between nostalgia and the present. "Rock Me" takes us even further into this universe, where soul meets cinematic grandeur. It's a song that doesn't just play, but it moves through you, past you, and into the epicenter of what it means to feel untamed and free.
