Reetoxa returns in style with new single “Humbug”

Reetoxa’s brand new single “Humbug” enters the atmosphere like a gust of real analog, crackling, raw, and wild, soaked in that retro, unfiltered 70’s rock ‘n’ roll we’re all craving so badly. A love song sprung from a mistake, delivered with swagger and in the golden warmth, it’s a beautiful contradiction. The track is full of crunchy guitars, soulful, and a confident swagger that makes you want to crank the volume all the way up.

The story behind “Humbug” is as impromptu as the song itself. Jason McKee accidentally stumbled across a fumbled minor pentatonic scale while rehearsing, which was but metaphorical lightning in a bottle. Within 45 seconds, the entire song came out, written on a studio couch during what was supposed to be a routine six-hour solo session. And that flash of accidental genius turned into a declaration of a crush on a girl who worked in the same studio, the muse for the melody.

Reetoxa doesn’t just deliver a song, he gives you an instant of rock ’n’ roll truth. “Humbug” is evidence that sometimes the most beautiful music emerges when you stop trying to perfect it and let it be catchy and chaotic, completely unforgettable, which is exactly what modern rock needs right now.
