Canadian artist Kojo Kay continues to forge his own artistic path with “THE HUMMINGBIRD TOLD ME IT’S ALL GONNA BE ALRIGHT SO I GUESS IT REALLY WILL BE SO…,” a highly experimental and emotionally charged single that is difficult to pigeonhole into a specific genre. This track is the third release off his upcoming self-produced debut mixtape, "TONEBOW," and boldly fuses elements of alternative hip-hop, future R&B, dark contemporary pop, and electronic textures into a deeply immersive and unpredictable experience.
Co-produced with Juno Award-winner Jamie Kuse, the production feels intentionally restless, echoing the emotional heaviness at the song’s core. Kojo Kay dives into the crushing weight of internal battles clashing with the immense state of the world, offering an intimate and cinematic listening experience.
The single revels in its raw honesty and fearless experimentation. The real kicker here is how emotionally genuine this release is. Kojo Kay uses genres to communicate openness, doubt, and resilience in a way that’s powerful and impossible to ignore.
