Gintsugi’s five-track EP "Strangers" explores identity, emotional displacement, and the unexpected connections people and places form. Created and recorded in Italy and France, the 17-minute 12-second release captures the tension of living between worlds, while embracing the intimacy of shared human experience. The project abandons Gintsugi's piano-driven sound and opens to a broader palette, where electronics and analog warmth blend to create a sensual atmosphere suspended between organic expression and synthetic textures.
“Stranger” opens the EP, setting up its preoccupation with the strange and the many selves we all carry inside. The track is a world of changing moods, desire, and contradiction. It creates space for a very personal, yet broad listening experience. "Ton Miroir" extends the idea of reflection, continuing the project's emotional territory and its investigation into how identity forms through encounters with others. "Oh My kid" spins the journey's intimacy, offering tenderness and a personal connection to a collection that always balances openness with atmospheric depth.
"The Gift" continues the EP’s reflection on human encounters, repeating the fact that chance encounters can have long-term effects. The tracklist as a whole hints at a fluid constellation of experiences, impulses, and emotions. "Battlefield" ends with Gintsugi, the title that evokes the conflicts and contradictions that make up the human experience, closing the journey with a fitting final chapter to a project defined by tension and transformation.
"Strangers" is a collaboration, with international contributors bringing their own creative vision to Gintsugi’s personal story. With them, the EP becomes a dialogue of imaginations, the unknown voices sounding strangely near. The result is a cohesive, atmospheric work that draws the listener into its shadows and leaves its emotional resonance hanging in the air long after the final track ends.
