Rolling Loud NY 2022 Proves Hip-Hop’s Heart Beats in Every Borough

The world’s largest hip-hop festival landed in the Big Apple, and it didn’t just make noise; it roared. The Rolling Loud New York 2022 show, which burned down the year’s festival season, was a pure reminder to the world why this culture won’t quit.

Rolling Loud founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif have taken their festival, started in Miami in 2015, international, with stops in Portugal, Thailand, and more. However, there’s something about New York, and maybe it’s the legacy. Perhaps it’s the attitude. Perhaps it’s just that the energy here never quits. Either way, Citi Field was high.

Kevin Gates spoke from the soul: “I love the energy in New York … it’s about how you tap into it and pull that out.” And yvngxchris, meanwhile, repped Virginia with pride, giving love to legends like Pharrell and Missy Elliot: “There’s something in the water, deadass.”

But perhaps it was Rowdy Rebel who said it best. “This creates a platform for artists that can’t sell out shows like this…if you go viral, turn the crowds into a mosh pit, this could be a nice hustle for you.” From shining stages to the next level, Rolling Loud NY was more than a concert; it was a cultural movement.
