Helen O'Shea turns the volume up on emotion with "Chaos"

New Jersey musician Helen O'Shea continues her musical journey with the new release of "Chaos," the third single from her upcoming album "Songs In The Key of O," set for release on March 6, 2026. After the atmospheric "Dense Water, Deeper Down" and the romantic "Rock And Roll Angel," "Chaos" is one of O'Shea's grittier, more textured moments: She isn't afraid to delve into the murky, lovely corners of the human experience. "Chaos" is a kind of snapshot of O'Shea's evolution as an artist.

Co-written by Barry Murphy, Helen McNamara, and Marc Swersky (who handles production duties), "Chaos" combines technical expertise with raw emotionality. The track is anchored by Marc Swersky's pulsing bass lines, layered with Andrew Carillo's guitar and Rob Clores' swirling keyboards, which add to the atmospheric texture, heightening Aaron Comess' intense drumming. Together, the group creates a soundscape that is both expansive and intimate, letting listeners delve far into its depths.

O'Shea's voice in "Chaos" is at once tender and commanding, grounding in that song's narrative with a level of authenticity that reverberates long after the final note dissipates. Its lyrics, meanwhile, are fittingly titled, a delicate dance of push and pull that somehow reflects the real-time pangs and surges of feeling in an entirely relatable manner.
