UK-based powerhouse vocalist and songwriter Sam Ryder is on a bold path to his much-anticipated second album, "Heartland", with the release of his new single, "Better Man". The track marks the fifth preview of the album, out Oct. 17, and it's already proving to be one of his most emotional offerings yet. Written by Ben Berger, Federico Vindver, Maureen McDonald, Ryan Rabin, and Ryder himself, "Better Man" sees the five-piece working together as a cohesive unit while still maintaining an intimate feel.
"Better Man is a song about the people in our lives who make us want to be better. We want to do better, be better for them. At the root of it all is the desire to be the best version of ourselves so that we can share a beautiful life with someone. That mood sets the tone for every muscular chorus, combining openness with the sort of sunny outlook Ryder has made his signature.
If "Heartland" is set to chart the course for Ryder's next phase, "Better Man" serves as that album's emotional compass, unfiltered, uplifting, and unmistakably human. Sam Ryder demonstrates once again why he is one of the UK's most powerful modern voices. "Better Man" is a promise to ourselves, carried on a voice that knows no limits.
