Vance Joy shines intimacy with new single "Fascination in the Dark"

Australian singer/songwriter Vance Joy makes a return with "Fascination in the Dark", as the radiant twin to last month's  "Divine Feelings". Both songs combined form a double A-side – "Divine Feelings" and "Fascination in the Dark"-of his most personal and celebratory chapter to date.

The songwriter co-wrote with longtime collaborator Dave Bassett, while production is credited to both Bassett and Edwin White, and "Fascination in the Dark" positively glows with warmth and consideration. The track doesn't rush. It unfolds instead with the relaxed patience of someone who has lived a season's worth of worthy pauses, married his dream girl, escaped to Barcelona and New York, and welcomed his first child. You can sense that turn in the song's tilt toward intimacy, as if Joy is less interested in the grand gesture and more focused on cataloging briefly flying sparks, small and silent.
