Danni Baylor raises the veil on her soul in debut EP, "Things About The World That Burden Me"

DMV native emerging R&B sensation, vocal diva & songwriter Danni Baylor delivers an unforgettable welcoming moment on her surprise debut EP, "Things About The World That Burden Me". A seven-track project clocking in at just over 23 minutes, the project is a bold and vulnerable set that solidified Baylor as one of alternative R&B's most refreshing young voices.

The EP explores overexcitement, disconnection, and the struggle to find peace amidst a stormy world. In crafting intimate observations into universal truths, Baylor turns the melodious sparkle of her songwriting into an experience that's at once both timely and timeless.

The EP kicks off with the electrifying opener, "KOOLADE." A blissed-out combination of punchy drums, the track is Baylor's call to recognition for creatives swayed by the fleeting lure of celebrity. "KOOLADE" is waking up and wondering why I have been taught to want. Baylor steps up with humor and fervor, calling on listeners to forsake the fake for the real.

The EP progresses with a track which she titled "LIAR LIAR," where she flexes her lyrical mastery, which then propels the project into deeper waters. "DISTRACTIONS" eases up the tempo, giving some meditative breathing room while advising listeners to strip away noise and protect their mental clarity.

One of the EP's more dazzling moments is "Warm." In this work, Baylor lays herself bare with unrepentant vulnerability as she battles through cycles of personal pain and emerges true to her own healing. Built around powerhouse vocals, "Warm" lingers as a universal anthem of self-forgiveness and emotional metamorphosis. Together, the seven songs tell a seamless tale of reflection and resilience. For Baylor, the project serves as a reflection of what goes on in her head.
