English-born singer-songwriter Luvcat released her fabulous comeback single, “He’s My Man (The Anniversary),” featuring none other than the punk poet extraordinaire, Dr.John Cooper Clarke. To coincide with the confirmation, they are sharing a single for the first time in their respective careers, and it came about through mutual respect and a chance encounter at this year’s Northern Music Awards, Luvcat won Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Clarke received an award for his influence throughout his lifetime.
“He’s My Man” set to feature on Luvcat’s forthcoming debut album “Vicious Delicious" on October 11, 2025, this version is a full-throttle push of grit and storytelling. Written by Archie Faulks, John Cooper Clarke, and Sophie Morgan Howarth, and produced by Oli Barton Wood, the track sees Luvcat’s brooding electronic pop sound combined with Clarke’s acerbic wit and distinctive voice.
The result is a toast raised at a darkly comic anniversary party, tender, toxic, and endlessly magnetic. Luvcat describes the collaboration as being in dreamland, and “He’s My Man (The Anniversary)” is a summit of generations, an alchemical blend of heart-stung songwriting and punk poetry that serves as a vivid reminder that music is most potent when strange bedfellows come together.
